Nelson Mandela, Mother Theresa and our own Craig Kielburger are all heralded globally as heroic philanthropists. Yet they would be the first to concede that the true unsung heroes are the people who selflessly strive to make significant and positive changes in our world without needing or being recognized.
On Thursday March 4th, 2010, the Michael "Pinball" Clemons Foundation's af'ri·ka gala held at the Four Seasons Hotel, was home to 400 of Toronto's unsung heroes. The unbelievable support, undeniable sprit and incredible generosity displayed exceeded our wildest expectations; executing this years inspirational fundraising Gala, we have raised just over $275,000.
From this year's proceeds MPCF, through Free The Children's (FTC) Adopt a Village development program, will build approximately 25 schools for marginalized children in six different countries. This incredible effort has given us a great start to fulfilling our commitment to FTC to build a total of 131 schools. In addition, MPCF is able to again contribute to our ongoing scholarship program with George Brown College Foundation.
For those of you that could not attend the af'ri·ka gala, but generously offered your support, your attendance was missed but definitely not forgotten. From our hearts to yours, we appreciate the significant role you played. The night would not have been the same without you!
Asante Sana (Many Thanks),

Michael "Pinball" Clemons
