The update of our commitment to Free the Children to build 131 schools is the following:
79 fully funded schools
32 schools are finished
15 schools are under construction
32 schools will be breaking ground in the new year
* In some countries a one room school house has been constructed. In other countries a classroom has been built within a school. Each country is different.
In addition to the schools we have funded - one of our donors have directed their donation to be used for a major water project in Dos Palais, Haiti.

Our donors raised $75,000 for the CIDA matching initiative.
Free the Children submitted a request for a matching gift from CIDA for projects that will yield the most significant long term results with regards to both educational programming and livelihood outside of classroom construction.
